Our son is 14 month old

Yesterday, on 28th July, 2011 (Sharwan 12, 2068) our son is 14th months old.

He is pretty tall now days and can stand by himself. He still is not totally confident on his feet, but he is very keen to experiment with different ways of moving: climbing, jogging, running, and jumping. He walked around 9 step by himself, but it seems he doesn't enjoy walking, rather he wants to be attached with his parents (i.e. me and my wife).

He has grown one more teeth on his upper jaw. He has now 3 teeth on upper jaw and 2 on the lower.

He has built and understand many vocabularies like "mama", "Baba", "Ba"(means his grand pa), "Bubu"(means his mother milk), "Nana"(means his books), "puppy", "papa"(means biscuits), "nunu"(means sleep), etc and a lot more. He can follow simple commands, such as "Bring me your shoes," or "Put the book down." He also understands the meanings of phrases such as "No," "Come here," "Show me," and "Look."

He wants to talk on the telephone a lot. He calls me Baba on telephone and he can understand that I am there on the other side of the telephone.

He wakes early in the morning and he let us wake up by calling "Baba" and "Mama" several time until we wake up and play with him.

It seems that he recognizes himself in the mirror. So he looks at the mirror, enjoys seeing his image. He calls his image "Babu", he sometimes closes his eyes, touches his nose, give kiss and so on.

Some days back a bee stung his thumb and he cried a lot.

Our son is 13 months old

On 26th june, 2011 (Ashad 12, 2068 according to "Date") our son is 13th months old.

Now days, he loves to chat and to listen to words, so we keep on talking to him about everything. He knows the names of our family members, and his toys.

He tries to signal his wishes to us without crying, by showing his hat when he wants to go out, or a toy that he wants to play. He enjoys having juice and water with straw.

Our son is 13 months old

On 15th june, 2011 (Ashad 1, 2068 according to "Tithi") our son is 13th months old. Physically he is stronger and taller than before. He has 4 teeth on his jaw, two on upper jaw and lower jaw.

He loves to have us watch him and he likes to hear us clap for him; he is beginning to do cute things just to get our attention. Like he calls us "Baba" n "Mama" so many times that sometimes we get tired of responding him. Similarly sometimes he gives flying kiss to us. He shows his love towards us with hugs, especially at evening when we get him back from day care. It may be because he stays around 6 hours in day care and he misses us a lot.

Now a days he empties anything he can get to - such as dresser drawers, kitchen cabinets, trash cans, and even dust bins. Most of the time he drops things so many times and he wants us to pick them up for him. And if we don't do that he sometimes gets angry and throws things and screams on us.

He can look and point in the right direction when we ask him the questions like where’s daddy, where’s the ball. He let us know when he wants something like water, juice and other things by giving certain symbols. But we still didn't understand him fully but he really try hard to make us understand what he was trying to say.

Sometimes he just screams just to show us how powerful he is. He is very much interested in small things like ants, bugs, and little rocks. He likes to listen to music and dance (waves his hands according to the music) to it.

Now a days he enjoys playing with his toys and more than playing he enjoys throwing those toys from Baranda and asks (indicates) someone to bring them back.
He is still not speaking well (its may be because he is learning two languages simultaneously) as i and my father talk in newari with him while my wife and sister talk in nepali with him.
He enjoys playing with water a lot and taking bath a lot.

Our son is stepping to 11th month

Day Before yesterday, on 2011 March 26, our son stepped to 11th month. Physically he has gained the weight of 10 kgs and ...... ft height. A teeth has emerged on his gum, so he didn't fell well this month and he didn't enjoy having food as before. Now a days he can stand by himself holding on something. And he loves this skill so much that he used to refuse to sit down. Because of this mobility he has fallen to several minor accidents even though we are watching him carefully.

We have tried to teach him hold crayons and he did but he is not been able to make scribbles or marks. While reading for him, he shows an interest in turning the pages in books, although it won't be just one page at a time! And now a days he responds to his name We think he has understood the meaning behind Mama and Baba. While feeding him, he wants to hold spoon and put it into his mouth. Actually he wants to do everything we do, and he tries so but he wants to do it in his own way. If he doesn't get chance for that he cries and screams.

He likes to look at pictures in Picture Books. And we are mainly teaching him about animals and the sounds they produce.

He wakes up early in the morning and the first thing he wants to do is sit on his potty and poo.

Our son has started to stand and walk

Our son is at 10th month. He has started to stand with support. He can stand if we hold his hands or he holds onto the furniture. Together with crawling he has started to walk on his limbs. Now a days he can sit comfortable and poo on his pot comfortably.
He has learnt some symbols and its meaning behind it, like when we say "bye, bye" he waves his hand, when we say "All is well" he pats his hands on his chest. Similarly he can say "NO" and shakes his head from side to side. He knows our approval or disapproval for his acts. Like when we shout or scold him, he just cries and when we appreciate him, he enjoys and shows his smile at us and hugs us. He also shows his jealousy when we hold other kids. He seems very much moody and upsets easily when we act he doesn't want.
This month, we tried to let him scribble, but he enjoys playing with crayons rather than scribbling.

He enjoys playing with ball, doll and toys and he can roll and throw a ball well. He enjoys seeing rolling and bouncing ball.

He can crawl well on his hands and knees, with his limbs straight and their trunk parallel to the floor. At this age, he can sit confidently and sometimes stand with our support for sometimes. He can control his fingers more precisely. He is able to pick up a small object with his thumb-and-finger. One day he took a tiny piece of plastic piece (hard one with sharp edge) and put into his mouth. It choked him and His mother took it out from his mouth. Actually we have to be very much careful about such things as he tries to taste everything, almost everything.

He has started enjoying his child care. He spends around 7 to 8 hours in his child care. He enjoys being with other kids and staffs over there.

Now a days he understands the meaning of "no." He says "mama" or "baba" and he expresses with gestures and sounds instead of cries. Actually he has become a chatterbox. We and our family members enjoy talking with him a lot. He has learnt waving his hands when other say bye bye.

Similarly he enjoys listening and watching rhymes like Humpty Dumpty, Five Little Monkeys, Ba Ba Black Sheep, Ding Dong Bell, Rain Rain Go Away, Merry This Old Man, Jonny Jonny Yes Papa on the Laptop.

We thought our chora is becoming cranky but

Now a days, we feel that our son is slowly becoming cranky. He usually sleep late at around 10 pm. Today also he wasn't sleeping till 10:30 pm. We thought he is exploiting us so we shouted on him but still he was not ready to sleep. At the very moment, something clicked us, "Isn't he hungry?" then we prepared one and half spoon of cerelace (baby food), we gave him, he took all and slept after some pat on his back. We felt very sorry for everything that happened tonight. Actually we didn't understand him and his cryings. He was actually hungry and asking for food, but we thought he was becoming cranky. How could an empty stomach sleep without food??
Sorry my Dear.

Mero chora went to Day Care

On jan 9, 2011 (two days back), our son went to his Day Care "First Step" for the first day. He was quiet unhappy on that day as he was separating from us. We too were not feeling good about that.
